AXICA opened its doors on September 12, 2024 for the 22nd German Council Congress (GCC) of the German Council of Shopping Places. In our extraordinary, light-flooded location, 250 decision-makers from the retail and real estate industry gathered to discuss the most pressing issues of the day. And, as the motto of the congress demanded, in all clarity: KLARTEXT.
Our premises provided the perfect stage for the high-caliber discussions and presentations that awaited the participants. Under the moderation of well-known TV journalist Judith Rakers, there was no beating around the bush on this day, but rather the topics that moved the industry were addressed clearly and bluntly.
As the venue of the GCC, we were able to witness how the great minds of the industry, politics and the media met in our rooms, exchanged ideas and thought together about the future of retail and retail real estate. Our architecture was not only the backdrop, but also the inspiration for the discussions that took place here. Participants were able to develop bold ideas and discuss future-oriented solutions in our open, modern environment: Digitalization, changing consumer behaviour, sustainability and the future of urban spaces – all of these were at the heart of the event. After the congress, the guests enjoyed a dinner buffet and used the meeting to network.
For us as an event venue, it was impressive to see how our rooms inspired the discussions and exchanges. AXICA stands for openness and innovation – and this was reflected in the discussions that took place here.
Our colleague David Bauer took over the AXICA project management for this event.
