„Have fun in the metaverse“ is author Collin Croome’s dedication for us in his book. But what does the metaverse mean for us in the working world? Do we even need to get into it? And if so, how?
Good to have a place for all these questions – our GABAL-Forum. And so, on the evening of May 15, many curious guests gathered in our Sky Lobby to listen to the presentation by Internet pioneer and Metaverse evangelist Collin Croome. Our speaker describes it like this: the Metaverse is a multimedia, three-dimensional space in which you can immerse yourself with your personal avatar and interact with other people and virtual elements.
In his presentation, we experienced almost in 3D how rapidly the development has already progressed and what else awaits us in the near future („this journey is 1% finished“). Because the possible applications are huge. For some of us, the metaverse is just a big playground, but it is already being used in areas of industry, architecture, logistics, medicine and finance.
And we at AXICA – driven by the pandemic – also had our virtual showroom created two years ago and can meet with our customer:s as avatars and walk through the 360-degree environment of AXICA’s digital twin.
In the real world, Collin Croome’s presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session and many stimulating conversations over vegetarian delicacies from our kitchen. Aside from the fact that we were all delighted with the very analog encounters, we all agree that the Metaverse is an exciting development and holds endless possibilities.
