Bestival Berlin Masterclass Sustainability

Bringing Berlin to life and inspiring people for sustainable events

How can we get even more people excited about sustainable event concepts in our city? By inviting them to experience for themselves what makes Berlin one of the leading event capitals in the MICE industry. This is exactly what we did at the BESTIVAL Masterclass SUSTAINABILITY from October 9 to 11. Twenty international, experienced event planners from associations, agencies and companies came to the capital to see for themselves the innovative concepts and sustainable measures that Berlin has to offer.

AXICA as host – experiencing sustainability up close

A special highlight of the Masterclass was the visit to AXICA. Our colleague Nadine Unger had the pleasure of welcoming the participants. In an exclusive session, Mareike Lindner from the German Sustainable Economy Association reported on the successful implementation of the first Sustainable Economy Summit at our company last year. This event set new standards in terms of sustainable economy and event planning.

Our colleague Alexandra Beck, Quality and CSR Manager at AXICA, also shared many valuable insights into the practical implementation of sustainability at events during the tour of our company. We are always happy to show how we live sustainability at AXICA and integrate it into our daily work.

A colorful program full of inspiration – what else was there?

The program of the BESTIVAL Masterclass SUSTAINABILITY was just as diverse as the city itself – the focus was on the intensive exchange of ideas and best practices, but of course without losing sight of the fun. Networking activities such as table tennis and sunrise yoga sessions, followed by bike tours through the city, not only brought exercise into play, but also personal exchange. In workshops, participants were able to learn from the best practices of others and contribute their own experiences.

Other highlights included visits to inspiring locations such as the Audiowerk, the Malzfabrik, the MAMPE-Manufaktur and the EUREF-Campus – all Berlin institutions that stand for innovation and sustainability. The experience was rounded off with a walking tour of the Festival of Lights, which brought the colorful, artistic and sustainable side of the city to life in a very special way. These experiences not only provided a deep insight into Berlin’s green soul, but also a direct exchange that gave rise to many new ideas.

Looking ahead – Bestival 2025

The Masterclass showed us once again: Sustainability and future-oriented events simply belong together in Berlin. We look forward to organizing many more sustainable events in our city in the coming years. And of course we are looking forward to Bestival 2025 with great anticipation – because Berlin still has many green ideas waiting to be discovered.

Berlin, a city that inspires – and thanks to formats such as the BESTIVAL Masterclass SUSTAINABILITY, a place where sustainable event concepts become reality. We are ready for the future. Are you too?
