On March 28, 2025, the Henry A. Kissinger Prize was awarded at the AXICA Convention Center at the Brandenburg Gate. This year, for the first time, three recipients were awarded:
Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,
Evika Siliņa, Prime Minister of Latvia,
and Ingrida Šimonytė, former Prime Minister of Lithuania.
The American Academy in Berlin honored their extraordinary commitment to transatlantic relations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of their countries‘ EU and NATO membership.
The laudatory speech was given by Wolfgang Ischinger, President of the Board of Trustees of the Munich Security Conference. It was also the first award ceremony since the death of Henry A. Kissinger, one of the Academy’s founding fathers and the namesake of the prize.
Our colleague Martina Göttler was in charge of project management for the event, ensuring that everything ran smoothly with great dedication and attention to detail. A special highlight of the evening was the gala dinner: Our in-house kitchen presented its signature menu, which was very well received by the international guests. We are proud to have hosted this special awards ceremony – and would like to thank the American Academy for its trust.
