The protection of life and livelihoods was the major topic of the Global Forum from June 13 – 15, 2023 with us at AXICA. This important conference was organized by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in cooperation with the World Bank Group.
The Forum provided an opportunity for policy makers, practitioners and social protection experts to jointly explore and discuss the scope and potential of Adaptive Social Protection (ASP) to strengthen resilience in the face of multiple, overlapping crises in all countries around the world and to promote adaptation.
More than 300 participants from 60 different countries attended in person, including representatives from governments, international organizations, academia, and the private sector. Livestreams of the opening, closing and plenary sessions were viewed over 4000 times. 100 speakers, moderators and panelists contributed to the 18 sessions hosted by development organizations and partners including UKAID/STAAR, ADB, InsuResilience, ILO, PEI, UNICEF, UNHCR, UNU-EHS, WFP and FAO.
In addition to the large forum, our plenary and sky lobby provided space for parallel sessions and side events. Our spacious foyer and adjacent conference rooms and auditorium were used throughout the day for hospitality and bilateral discussions.
After the event, we received wonderful feedback, which Project Manager Dewiyana Fauzan and the entire AXICA team were delighted about:
„AXICA gave the Global Forum on Adaptive Social Protection an exceptional home and thus a fitting setting for the topic of social protection. The impressive architecture, the unique ambience, the excellent service before and during the event as well as the highly professional and always pleasant cooperation contributed to the fact that the event was a complete success and will remain in positive memory of the participants for a long time. A heartfelt thank you for this!„
