What better venue in Berlin could there have been for this congress? In early May, the INMA World Congress 2026 took place at AXICA on Pariser Platz under the theme “From Walls to Bridges” – right next to the Brandenburg Gate, arguably the world’s best-known symbol of reunification and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Rarely have a venue and a theme complemented each other so perfectly.
INMA, the International News Media Association, brings together leaders from the international media industry every year – and the topics for 2026 could hardly have been more relevant: the influence of AI on journalism, objective reporting in the age of social media, and the future of the traditional daily newspaper. Four forces took centre stage: Reinvention, Collision, Unification and Mobilisation – buzzwords that describe the transformation of an entire industry. Big questions that require plenty of space. Space for discussion, listening and genuine interaction.
The Forum, Plenum and Quadriga provided the perfect setting: Frank O. Gehry’s architecture creates atmospheres that foster openness – whilst maintaining focus. International delegates from over 50 countries gathered here not just to listen, but to engage in conversation.
For our project manager Maria Lindenhain, the multi-day congress was one of her personal event highlights of the year – both in terms of content and design. We were delighted to receive the following feedback from the client afterwards: “We loved being in Berlin and our experiences at AXICA and Museum Island were fabulous!”
