Atlantic Council

The 360 / OS Sym­po­si­um, orga­ni­zed at AXICA by the Digi­tal Foren­sic Rese­arch Lab of the Atlan­tic Coun­cil, was the first sym­po­si­um of its kind that brought tog­e­ther jour­na­lists, acti­vists, busi­ness­peo­p­le and poli­ti­cal decis­i­on makers to uti­li­ze the pos­si­bi­li­ties of open source, social media and digi­tal foren­sics. Inter­di­sci­pli­na­ry tech­no­lo­gies were deve­lo­ped to unco­ver untruths and fake news, to docu­ment inf­rin­ge­ments on human rights and broad­cast the topi­cal­i­ty of cur­rent glo­bal events in real time.
Inter­na­tio­nal spea­k­ers and guests of this hybrid sym­po­si­um included, among­st others, Made­lei­ne Alb­right, For­mer Secre­ta­ry of Sta­te of the US Sta­te Depart­ment, John Frank, Vice Pre­si­dent for Euro­pe at Micro­soft, Wolf­gang Ischin­ger, Chair­man of the Munich Secu­ri­ty Con­fe­rence and Tzi­pi Liv­ni, Israel’s for­mer Minis­ter of Justice.
