Around 350 guests from politics, business and society met on February 13th at the invitation of the magazine politik & kommunikation and the Quadriga Hochschule Berlin at AXICA to honor personalities and campaigns with the Politics Award. Among the winners were Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn ("Politician of the Year"), former EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker ("Lifetime Achievement"), FDP General Secretary Linda Teuteberg ("Rising Star of the Year") and Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser (" DAX30 CEO of the Year ").
Moderator Dr. Hajo Schumacher led the evening investigative as usual and elicited one or two personal words from the winners. Schumacher was particularly pleased with the new Quadriga initiative "Politics dare". Local politicians are honored who continue their work despite hostility and threats and who counteract the increasing brutalization of our democratic political culture.
AXICA not only offered the right festive setting for the award ceremony. The catering team then invited the guests on a stroll through the boroughs of Berlin and so the guests found the famous Berlin currywurst as a vegetarian option on the buffets, the capital perch from the ECF farm in Tempelhof, mini-burgers with vegan patty, traditional Beef roulades (from Charlottenburg) or a "no-waste pumpkin bowl" that is currently popular in Prenzlauer Berg.
The evening ended with music and good conversations.
