This Christmas the axica is proud to be able to help contribute to at least two of those paradise gems: children and flowers. The axica will be making a Christmas donation once again to the garden project of the SOS-Kinderdorf Berlin-Moabit, a school for under-privileged children.

THE LOCATION AWARDS 2011 IN THE axica
The axica opened its doors on the 8th October to colleagues from the event
industry on the occasion of the Location Awards 2011, an annual event now in
its second year. Following on from its success last year, where the axica picked
up the "Best Design Location" award, the axica offered itself as host to this
increasingly popular event, rewarding as it does excellence amongst leading
German event locations.

NOUVELLE RECRUE AU DEPARTEMENT EVENT, CATERING & SERVICES
Anne-Lise Méreau soutient, depuis cet été, le département Event, Catering & Services de l'axica. Née au Mans, elle surveille très attentivement le marché évènementiel français . Son objectif est de proposer à ses compatriotes un interlocuteur compétent dans l'organisation évènementielle à Berlin et plus particulièrement à l'axica. Anne-Lise Méreau a obtenu un Magistère de tourisme à l'université d'Angers ainsi que son équivalent à la Fachhochschule de Kempten (Allemagne). TRUST IS ONE THING – INSPECTION REPORTS ANOTHER!
According to the definition of the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology,
Hygiene is the "Learning how to prevent the spread of illness and the how to
maintain, promote and keep one's health". How important this subject is today
can be seen if one takes only a cursory glance at current headlines. Therefore it is
to be encouraged that catering establishments under-go regular hygiene controls.

THE "LIKE "BUTTON IS NOT ENOUGH!
In order to continually improve, axica is now taking the opportunity to ask
directly for the clients opinions. The extensive internet site now includes an
option to enable event organisers to give direct feedback on the individual
aspects of their event including preparation, implementation and post-event
briefing.
"The "like" button on our facebook site simply does not tell us enough", explains
Friedhelm Leschinger, Managing Director of the axica.

axica THINKS GREEN, ESPECIALLY CUISINE
Over the last years axica has been actively addressing the subject of sustainability in events, in particular “green meetings“. Initially the focus was on fine tuning the existing “hardware”, the modern and architecturally unique building and the refurbishment of the kitchens and equipment. Now the green spotlight is being shone on the „software“. Currently the cuisine on offer is virtually all regionally sourced produce and Chef de Cuisine Mirko Lummert is personally involved in the selection of all suppliers.

axica AT THE BEST OF EVENTS IN DORTMUND
Literally hundreds of companies from across Germany will take the opportunity to present themselves in the Westfalenhalle from the 19th to 20th January 2011, offering services ranging from stand building, staging, furniture and interior design, PA and video technology to IT solutions, catering and marquees not to mention hotels, venues and unique locations. BRAND NEW - THE axica SHOWKITCHEN
Over the summer the axica kitchens were a hive of building activity and as the
dust settled after many hours of hard work, like a phoenix rising from the ashes
out of the existing cantine, a brand new and perfectly formed show kitchen has
been created. It was certainly worth the wait!
"It is a great opportunity to show our guests right before their eyes how the
finishing touches are put into the dishes before they reach the table",
says Chef de Cuisine Mirko Lummert.

TALK OF THE TOWN!
"Celebrating ten years of finest events" was the motto for the anniversary
celebrations in the axica on the 8th October 2010. In the building, located right next
to the iconic Brandenburg Gate and designed by world renowned architect
Frank O. Gehry, 300 invited guests from across the globe partied until the early
hours.

WHERE TOP CLASS SPORT MEETS TOP CLASS CATERING
The Berlin Marathon on September 26th will be celebrating a new winner this year, as Haile Gebrselassie has chosen to run in New York instead. However, it is reassuring to know that some things will remain unchanged as his four year winning legacy comes to an end. The axica catering team will once again be providing top class nourishment for the fevered VIP fans invited by organiser SCC Running to their finish line marquee.

ITS FIREWORKS FOR THE axica AT THE PREMIERE OF THE LOCATION AWARDS 2010!
The heavens above Berlin’s Olympic Stadium were lit up red and silver (amongst other colours it must be said) on Friday after axica won the best "Designer Location" prize presented at the locationportale.de inaugural Location Awards ceremony in the Jesse Owens Lounge. SATURDAY HEIGHT FEVER IN THE axica
Not only Saturday, in fact, all summer long in the axica is height fever – the time
of year when the steel and glass ceiling which covers and protects the
Frank O. Gehry architectural masterpiece from the elements all year round
must be cleaned and polished.
However, to balance suspended from a 30 m ceiling in extreme heat is a job that
requires more than just George Formby and his Ukulele!

X YEARS axica
The axica on the Pariser Platz 3 is ten years old!
Germany’s most exclusive back stage area! Great names such as U2, Status Quo, Peter Fox or Herbert Groenemeyer have graced the building with their presence over the last years, either receiving awards or using it as an exclusive back stage area for the legendary concerts held at the Brandenburg Gate. Live 8, the Football World Championships 2006 or the MTV Awards have all helped show Berlin in its best light, and the axica was never far from the centre of the action.

BAUHAUS CHIC IN THE axica
After ten years faithful duty is time to part company with the good old KPM china at the axica and introduce something new! The search for an appropriate replacement led us to the wonderful architect and designer Walter Gropius. He was one of the early founders of the German Work Federation group of architects and also went on to be one of the leading creators of the Bauhaus movement in Weimar, which had an enormous influence on 20th century architecture in Germany and beyond. THE axica EXPANDS ITS EVENT, CATERING & SERVICES TEAM
The Event, Catering and Services Team of the axica has been further expanded by the addition of Martina Goettler, who joined the team at the end of last year. Martina, who comes from Bavaria, brings with her a wealth of experience gathered across a wide range of fields. The Moskau was a building of considerable prestige in the German Democratic Republic and has recently undergone an extensive renovation allowing it to re-take its position in Berlin as one of the most sought after locations. The German Song Writer Awards made their premiere in Berlin on the 28th May
2009. The Munich based GEMA brought the Pariser Platz to life as a throng of celebrity and
VIP guests arrived to attend. The honours fell for once on composers and lyricists,
who otherwise are often kept out of the limelight. Winners included Annette Humpe, Peter Fox, Judith Holofernes and Die

Starting May this year the Production Company satis&fy AG Berlin (s&f) and the axica Congress- and Conference Center Pariser Platz 3 Ltd have come together to form a mutual co-operation. satis&fy will serve as the preferred partner for the supplying of technical and decorative components for events held within the axica in an agreement that runs for the next two years.
