BRAND NEW - THE axica SHOWKITCHEN

Over the summer the axica kitchens were a hive of building activity and as the dust settled after many hours of hard work, like a phoenix rising from the ashes out of the existing cantine, a brand new and perfectly formed show kitchen has been created. It was certainly worth the wait! "It is a great opportunity to show our guests right before their eyes how the finishing touches are put into the dishes before they reach the table", says Chef de Cuisine Mirko Lummert.

TALK OF THE TOWN!

"Celebrating ten years of finest events" was the motto for the anniversary celebrations in the axica on the 8th October 2010. In the building, located right next to the iconic Brandenburg Gate and designed by world renowned architect Frank O. Gehry, 300 invited guests from across the globe partied until the early hours. WHERE TOP CLASS SPORT MEETS TOP CLASS CATERING

The Berlin Marathon on September 26th will be celebrating a new winner this year, as Haile Gebrselassie has chosen to run in New York instead. However, it is reassuring to know that some things will remain unchanged as his four year winning legacy comes to an end. The axica catering team will once again be providing top class nourishment for the fevered VIP fans invited by organiser SCC Running to their finish line marquee.

ITS FIREWORKS FOR THE axica AT THE PREMIERE OF THE LOCATION AWARDS 2010!

The heavens above Berlin’s Olympic Stadium were lit up red and silver (amongst other colours it must be said) on Friday after axica won the best "Designer Location" prize presented at the locationportale.de inaugural Location Awards ceremony in the Jesse Owens Lounge. SATURDAY HEIGHT FEVER IN THE axica

Not only Saturday, in fact, all summer long in the axica is height fever – the time of year when the steel and glass ceiling which covers and protects the Frank O. Gehry architectural masterpiece from the elements all year round must be cleaned and polished. However, to balance suspended from a 30 m ceiling in extreme heat is a job that requires more than just George Formby and his Ukulele!

The axica on the Pariser Platz 3 is ten years old!
Germany’s most exclusive back stage area! Great names such as U2, Status Quo, Peter Fox or Herbert Groenemeyer have graced the building with their presence over the last years, either receiving awards or using it as an exclusive back stage area for the legendary concerts held at the Brandenburg Gate. Live 8, the Football World Championships 2006 or the MTV Awards have all helped show Berlin in its best light, and the axica was never far from the centre of the action. ORGANIC MEETS FINE DINING

The axica Congress and Conference Centre is perhaps best known for its extraordinary design, the work of prize winning architect Frank Gehry. But those guests who have had the pleasure of enjoying an axica gala dinner menu within its hallowed walls know there is much more to this building than meets just the eye:

THE axica AT IMEX 2010

In 2010 the axica will once again be present at the IMEX in Frankfurt/Main: the international trade fair devoted to the congress, meeting, event and incentive industry. From the 25th to 27th May 2010 you will find us within the Berlin presentation of the German Convention Bureau at booth F 100 / 47 in Frankfurt.

BAUHAUS CHIC IN THE axica

After ten years faithful duty is time to part company with the good old KPM china at the axica and introduce something new! The search for an appropriate replacement led us to the wonderful architect and designer Walter Gropius. He was one of the early founders of the German Work Federation group of architects and also went on to be one of the leading creators of the Bauhaus movement in Weimar, which had an enormous influence on 20th century architecture in Germany and beyond. THE axica EXPANDS ITS EVENT,
CATERING & SERVICES TEAM

The Event, Catering and Services Team of the axica has been further expanded by the addition of Martina Goettler, who joined the team at the end of last year. Martina, who comes from Bavaria, brings with her a wealth of experience gathered across a wide range of fields. Prior to the imminent official opening of “The Moskau”, the axica Catering Team will be celebrating its premiere in the kitchens. The Moskau was a building of considerable prestige in the German Democratic Republic and has recently undergone an extensive renovation allowing it to re-take its position in Berlin as one of the most sought after locations. The axica catering team, officially appointed as preferred partner in the venue, makes its debut in the kitchens on the occasion of Satis&Fy’s, Berlin’s leading technical AV provider, “wave rider” party.
