THE LOCATION AWARDS 2011 IN THE axica
The axica opened its doors on the 8th October to colleagues from the event industry on the occasion of the Location Awards 2011, an annual event now in its second year. Following on from its success last year, where the axica picked up the "Best Design Location" award, the axica offered itself as host to this increasingly popular event, rewarding as it does excellence amongst leading German event locations.

Anne-Lise Méreau

Anne-Lise Méreau was born in Le Mans and as well as offering her much needed support to the team she will be additionally focusing on the French event market with the aim of attracting more business into Berlin and the axica. Anne-Lise graduated from Kempten College of Hotel Management and Gastronomy in Germany before going on to study further for her Masters in Angers (France). Dear Clients,

I would like to take this opportunity to warmly thank you for the work we have done together over the last years and the many sometimes challenging, sometimes wonderful but always rewarding discussions we have shared!
I have enjoyed enormously the last ten years in the axica which have not only shaped me but have allowed me to develop further in my career.
As of the 1st July 2011 I shall be taking on a new challenge outside of the axica, though the axica team will be there to continue to assist you. Mrs Nathalie Dahmann-Harbecke has returned in May from her maternity leave and is once again your main point of contact.

I leave you as an "axicaner" but hope that we shall be in touch again soon.

In order to continually improve, axica is now taking the opportunity to ask directly for the clients opinions. The extensive internet site now includes an option to enable event organisers to give direct feedback on the individual aspects of their event including preparation, implementation and post-event briefing. "The "like" button on our facebook site simply does not tell us enough", explains Friedhelm Leschinger, Managing Director of the axica.

Over the last years axica has been actively addressing the subject of sustainability in events, in particular "green meetings". Initially the focus was on fine tuning the existing "hardware", the modern and architecturally unique building and the refurbishment of the kitchens and equipment. Now the green spotlight is being shone on the "software". Currently the cuisine on offer is virtually all regionally sourced produce and Chef de Cuisine Mirko Lummert is personally involved in the selection of all suppliers.

Literally hundreds of companies from across Germany will take the opportunity to present themselves in the Westfalenhalle from the 19th to 20th January 2011, offering services ranging from stand building, staging, furniture and interior design, PA and video technology to IT solutions, catering and marquees not to mention hotels, venues and unique locations. The axica will also be exhibiting as invited guest of Locationportale GmbH as the forthcoming host for this year's acclaimed "Location Award's 2011" in the person of Jule Schendler.
